Dear colleagues,

This issue marks the final edition of internord, and I must admit quite frankly: as an enthusiastic reader, contributor and supporter of our staff magazine, this thought feels rather strange to me at first.

Ever since the formation of our current group over 20 years ago, *internord* has highlighted every three months what defines and drives us as the TÜV NORD GROUP: dedicated people, exciting challenges, fascinating technologies – all combined with the many faces and stories behind our shared development into a knowledge-based group and technology company.

I have always been particularly impressed by the great willingness of so many colleagues to provide insights into their work, present projects and share personal – and sometimes even private – experiences. I would like to thank everyone involved personally for this. Openness and commitment have shaped internord and will remain an important part of our corporate culture and our communication in the future.

From 2020 onwards, internord was published exclusively in digital format. This was an important step towards making the magazine more contemporary, more accessible and more flexible. The past few months have shown us once again that the way we use media has changed significantly once more.

Openness and commitment have shaped internord and will continue to be an important part of our corporate culture and our communications in the future.

Our working world is evolving at a rapid pace and becoming increasingly digital. Information is communicated almost in real time. Teams work together internationally and are connected globally. Decisions must be made more quickly. At the same time, we are all experiencing an ever-increasing volume of information on a daily basis. Our business units and committees have set up a wide range of their own channels to provide employees with targeted information tailored to their needs.

In light of this development, we, the Group Executive Board (KGL), have decided to phase out the internord magazine, which has previously been published four times a year.

As a Group, we want to provide information even more quickly in future, listen more directly and address the issues that matter to us in our day-to-day work more effectively. These include changes in our markets as well as questions about our company, our collaboration, workload and development opportunities.

Modern corporate communication is not just about glossy images and success stories. Rather, our aim is to provide guidance in times of rapid change.

Modern corporate communications is not just about glossy presentations and success stories. Rather, our aim is to provide guidance in times of rapid change. Corporate communications must explain clearly why decisions are taken and create space for dialogue.

As a group, we therefore want to communicate in a way that is even more visible, personal and consistent. This applies to annual results and major innovations, but also to the difficult questions that shape our day-to-day work. After all, trust is not built through individual high-profile messages, but through open and transparent dialogue.

New technologies – particularly artificial intelligence – will also have a lasting impact on our industry. This applies just as much to communication and the associated speed with which we can process information and publish it across our various channels: openly, with a focus on learning and dialogue.

The latest issue of internord therefore marks a deliberate step towards a form of communication that is more up-to-date, more direct and more closely engaged with you.

To mark our farewell, we’re taking a look back and presenting a selection of articles that have attracted a great deal of interest over the past few years.

Thank you very much for your trust, your openness and your continued curiosity about what drives us as the TÜV NORD GROUP.

Warm regards,
Dirk Stenkamp
